SEP 4 1985 <br />BOOK 6 1 PACE 9�� <br />pay the counties the equivalent of what they have lost from their <br />tax base. <br />Commissioner Bird commented that he brought up this concern, <br />and the District's answer was that they feel the project will be <br />of such benefit to the properties near it in Indian River County, <br />that it will offset what is lost. <br />Mrs. Wilson pointed out that the District has 19 counties, <br />and felt all the others would say why should they put their tax <br />dollars down -here. <br />Chairman Lyons emphasized that he would like to see an <br />analysis done of who is giving and who is paying and then take <br />this up with the state, not with the District. <br />LETTER FROM ST.
