Director Dean emphasized <br />that this is a different situation, and he did not intentionally <br />misrepresent what the county would do. <br />Chairman Lyons noted that, in that case, what the Ambulance <br />Squad actually is asking for is a $6,000 increase in their <br />budget. <br />General Services Director Dean advised that if the County <br />decides to pay for this, it would be an amendment to the General <br />Services budget as we do not have anything allocated for this <br />expense. <br />Chairman Lyons felt this is simply the cost of doing <br />business. We have an organization that depends on contributions <br />for the majority of its budget, and they are providing a very <br />necessary service. <br />Discussion ensued re the cost involved, and Mr. Lane advised <br />it amounts to approximately $416 a month for the four phone lines <br />- Fellsmere does not have a phone line. <br />Commissioner Bird asked how much money we need for the re- <br />mainder of this year and how much will be needed for next year's <br />budget. <br />OMB Director Barton believed the cost for the remainder of <br />this fiscal year can be handled with a budget amendment as <br />authorized by the Board earlier today to balance out fiscal year <br />84-85. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />agreed to pick up the phone bill as discussed <br />by the Ambulance Squad; to make the necessary <br />adjustments in the 84-85 budget; and to add <br />this item to the General Services budget for <br />the coming fiscal year. <br />63 <br />S EP 4 1985 BOOK E <br />PAG <br />
