PINTO <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 17, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: REJECT BID RECEIVED FOR <br />REFURBISHING AND PAINTING <br />OF 150,000 GALLON <br />ELEVATED WATER TANK <br />FROM: JOSEPH A. BAIRD <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Indian River County' -opened bids on Tuesday, May 7, 1985 at 1:30 P.M. for <br />the repair and repainting of the 150,000 gallon elevated water storage <br />tank. The only bidder, Ridge Sandblasting & Painting Co., Inc. submitted a <br />bid in the amount of $45,000.00. <br />Due to the lack of response, both Masteller & Moler Associates, Inc., the <br />consulting engineers on the project and the Indian River County Utility <br />Staff feel that we should reject the Ridge Sandblasting & Painting Co., <br />Inc. bid and re -advertise the project. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />.I <br />1. Reject the Ridge Sandblasting & Painting Co., Inc. bid for <br />refurbishing the elevated tank and authorize Indian River County <br />Utilities to re -advertise the project. <br />2. Accept the Ridge Sandblasting & Painting, Inc. bid in the amount of <br />$45,000.00. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Honorable Board of County Commissioners reject <br />the Ridge Sandblasting & Painting Co., Inc. bid and re -advertise this <br />project. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, Commissioner Wodtke being out of <br />the room and Commissioner Bird absent, the Board <br />unanimously (3-0) rejected the bid received from <br />Ridge Sandblasting & Painting Co. Inc. and authorized <br />the re -advertisement of the project. <br />12 <br />
