be updated as additional existing facilities come into compliance and as new <br />facilities subject to the requirements of SARA Title III are constructed. <br />The hazards analysis for Indian River County consists of the following three <br />components: <br />A. Hazards Identification - provides specific information on <br />situations that have the potential for causing injury to life or <br />damage to property. <br />A hazards identification includes information about: <br />chemical identities; <br />the location of facilities that use, produce, <br />process, or store hazardous materials; <br />the type and design of chemical container or <br />vessel; <br />the quantity of material that could be involved in <br />an airborne release; and <br />nature of the hazard (e.g., airborne toxic vapors <br />or mists which are the primary focus of this <br />guide; also other hazards such as fire, explosion, <br />large quantities stored or processed, handling <br />conditions) most likely to accompany hazardous <br />materials spills or releases. <br />APPENDIX A - contains a list of extremely hazardous <br />substances and data for the hazards analysis. <br />Indian River County Emergency Plan for Hazardous Materials Page 3 <br />
