C. Activation <br />The County Emergency Services Director and staff will <br />activate the EOC and assist in the notification process. <br />Rumor control telephone numbers will also be activated. <br />Designated emergency personnel will report to the EOC <br />and other emergency response personnel may be <br />directed to take appropriate emergency actions. <br />4.4 NOTIFICATION TO THE PUBLIC <br />Upon the determination that a Limited Emergency Condition or a Full <br />Emergency Condition is in progress, the County Emergency Services <br />Director will activate procedures to provide the incident commander's <br />notification and clear instructions, including periodic status updates, to the <br />general public within the area affected by the release. <br />The Indian River County Department of Emergency Services will activate the <br />Emergency Alert System (EAS) to notify the public of a general emergency <br />caused by a hazardous material release. <br />Residents and transients will be advised to tune to the following radio and <br />television stations for detailed information and instructions: <br />RADIO <br />TELEVISION <br />WQCS-FM (88.9) <br />WPBF - ABC <br />WSCF-FM (91.9) <br />WPEC - CBS <br />WZZR-FM (92.7) <br />WPTV - NBC <br />WGYL-FM (93.7) <br />WWCI - INDEP. <br />WAVW-FM (101.7) <br />Government Access: <br />Cable <br />Channel 27 <br />WQOL-FM (103.7) <br />WAXE-AM (1370) <br />WTTB-AM (1490) <br />Additionally, the Indian River County Department of Emergency Services <br />has a cable interrupt capability, through Comcast Cablevision Services, <br />which would allow for notification of significant events through the above <br />cable systems.
