Level A Recommended Personal Protective Equipment <br />includes: <br />Pressure -demand, full face piece self-contained <br />breathing apparatus (SCBA) or pressure -demand <br />supplied -air respirator with escape SCBA; <br />2. Fully -encapsulating, chemical -resistant suit; <br />3. Inner chemical -resistant gloves; <br />4. Chemical -resistant safety boots/shoes; <br />5. Two-way radio communications; and <br />6. Optional: boot covers, cooling unit, coveralls, <br />disposable gloves, hard hat, and long cotton <br />underwear. <br />Level B (Firefighters Protective Clothing - structural) <br />provides protection by restricting inhalation of, ingestion of, <br />or skin contact with hazardous vapors, liquids, and solids. <br />This clothing may not provide adequate protection from <br />poisonous vapors or liquids encountered during hazardous <br />materials incidents. This is the minimum level <br />recommended for initial site entries until the hazards have <br />been completely identified. <br />Level B Recommended Personal Protective Equipment <br />includes: <br />Pressure -demand, full face piece self-contained <br />breathing apparatus (SCBA), or pressure -demand <br />supplied -air respirator with escape SCBA; <br />2. Chemical -resistant clothing (either overalls and <br />long-sleeved jacket, hooded one or two-piece <br />chemical splash suit, or disposable chemical resistant <br />one-piece suit); <br />3.
