However, the new
investors are making significant investment in new technology as a_ result of the acquisition with new
products planned in the short and medium term. The ability to migrate from AMR to AMI in the
future is expected in a new release planned for Q2 2015 but will probably not have any reference
sites if IRCDUS proceeds with going to RFP. Aclara does have a high share of the endpoint market and
in 2013 it was at 28% so they are confirmed as a leader in the AMR market.
Aclara MDMS is their MDM system, and they also support leak detection, customer self service via
Aclara MDMS and also mobile support for tablets and smartphones.
Aclara provides fully outsourced installation, support and maintenance for the AMR/AMR
infrastructure from the meter register to back haul network, and support for the system components
such as hardware and software for the head end and MDM.
© Langham Consulting Services Inc. 1 Indian River County Department of Utilities 1 January 16, 20151 www.langhamconsulting.net
LANGHAM
