DeBlois REFERENCES: Moorings DER <br />Staff Planner X0 DIS:ROLAND <br />It is requestedthat the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting on October 23, 1985. <br />DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION APPLICATION FILE NO. <br />31-110330-4 <br />APPLICANT: Moorings Development Company <br />2125 Windward Way <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32963 <br />WATERWAY & LOCATION; The project is located in the Indian <br />River in Little Starvation Cove, Section 21, Township 33 South, <br />Range 40 East, Indian River County, Florida. <br />The upland property associated with the project is located at <br />400 Harbor Drive, Vero Beach, Florida. <br />WORK & PURPOSE: The applicant proposes to construct an 18 slip <br />docking facility. The proposed work involves the construction <br />of a 667 -foot by 9 -foot pier extending waterward of the <br />adjacent river bank in four jointed sections, forming an <br />artificial breakwater on the north side of Little Starvation <br />Cove. Extending south from the main pier, 9 finger piers will <br />be constructed, varying in length from 30 feet to 42 feet. The <br />.proposed piers are to consist of a floating -type construction <br />of concrete and held in place using treated wood pilings. No <br />dredging or filling will be performed. No sewage pump -out or <br />fueling facilities are proposed. The purpose of the fapility <br />is to provide private boat docking facilities for The -Moorings <br />Club. <br />DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS: <br />Little Starvation Cove has previously been dredged to a uniform <br />depth of 13 feet mean water.
