The developer has agreed to hold a meeting next <br />Tuesday with the property owners to address these concerns, and <br />Mr. Cooper explained that he had suggested that this meeting be <br />tabled for a week from now in order to receive the input of their <br />meeting, but .Mr. Challacombe has advised that those concerns <br />could be handled during the DRI process by stipulating the hours <br />of delivery, speed limit, etc. He stressed that their concerns <br />are separate from the environmental issue. <br />Director Keating confirmed that this is a matter for the <br />I_61A <br />Commissioner Bowman pointed out that this is probably the <br />last pristine coastal hammock left in this county. She felt that <br />the tree ordinance is inadequate and hoped that before we get to <br />site plan review on this project, we can do something about it <br />because there is understory that should be saved -- it is just <br />not a matter of saving the big oaks. She cautioned that whatever <br />is done in that area will affect the climate, because it is so <br />lush. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The <br />Motion was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Challacombe explained that while the requirements under <br />the Tree Protection Ordinance do not impact the single-family lot <br />under 100 feet, this does not waive the protection to the <br />mangroves on a single lot. <br />Commissioner Bird felt that the Tree Protection Ordinance <br />should be modified to give more protection to trees because it <br />seems that more trees are being taken down than saved. <br />The Commissioners agreed to take another look at the Tree <br />Protection Ordinance. <br />43 <br />NOV 13 1985 BO -OK 62 FACE 75i <br />
