W(raftonsti)Vk <br /> RESOLUTION NO.97. 132 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br /> FLORIDA, TO THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE <br /> OF FLORIDA IN SUPPORT OF CONTINUING THE <br /> PRESERVATION 2000 PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, with Florida's rapid growth it is important to preserve certain lands in <br /> the state and to protect some environmentally significant land from further <br /> development;and <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County feels that the Preservation 2000 Program has <br /> been extremely successful resulting in the purchase of thousands of acres of valuable <br /> land; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board urges the <br /> state to continue funding this important program which will preserve Florida for future <br /> generations. <br /> The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Ginn , and <br /> the motion was seconded by Commissioner Ti ppi n ,and, upon being put to a <br /> vote, the vote was as follows: <br /> Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert Aye <br /> Vice Chairman John W. Tippin Aye <br /> Commissioner Kenneth R. Macht Absent <br /> Commissioner Caroline D.
