NOV 2 0 7985 <br />BOOK 62 FA E 8+0 <br />Director Davis noted that we need that shell to maintain the <br />400 miles of <br />unpaved <br />roads we do have, <br />and <br />he <br />felt <br />it would be <br />advantageous <br />not to <br />have these mining <br />pits <br />on"the <br />County <br />inventory after they are mined out. He recommended going along <br />with the agreement suggested by Attorney O'Haire. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, to proceed as set out in the <br />staff recommendation. <br />Commissioner Bowman had some objection to turning these marl <br />pits over to the Water Control people when they are mined out as <br />she wondered if we may not need this water supply at some time <br />for our own use. <br />Administrator Wright believed we could word the agreement to <br />deal with that. <br />Commissioner Wodtke did not feel the District would have any <br />problem with language stating that should there be a demonstrated <br />need for potable water for the people of Indian River County that <br />we have certain rights. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />BIANNUAL INSPECTION OF COUNTY BRIDGES AND WEIGHT POSTING <br />The Board referred to memo of Public Works Director Davis, <br />as follows: <br />42 <br />
