County Attorney <br />I have attached a copy of a letter from Gene Morris, County Tax <br />Collector, explaining that there are nine tax certificates held <br />by Indian River County which are now eligible for tax deed <br />applications. A tax certificate is a lien against the land for <br />unpaid taxes, and the County may apply for tax deeds on the <br />properties for which there are tax certificates which are over <br />two years old._ <br />This request is for the Board of County Commissioners to <br />authorize the application for tax deeds for the nine properties <br />eligible, and for the following funding to process the <br />applications: <br />1. $405.00 to Gene Morris for twenty year tax search fees at <br />$45.00 per parcel. <br />2. $657.90 to Freda Wright for clerk's fees and advertising <br />costs at $73.10 per parcel. <br />3. $60.00 to Tim Dobeck, Sheriff, for --posting fees at $12.00 <br />for each of five parcels which have improvements. <br />The attached nine tax certificates have been approved for form <br />and legal sufficiency. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously author- <br />ized the Chairman to sign Applications for.
