M ® M <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, Sherman' N. Smith, Jr., Esquire has <br />been active as an attorney and counselor at law in Florida <br />since December 'of 1935 and, on December 2nd, 1985, observed <br />the Fiftieth Anniversary of his admission to the practice of <br />law in the State of Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Esquire <br />served his country with distinction as a Naval officer during <br />World War II; and <br />WHEREAS, Sherman. N. Smith, Jr., Esquire <br />served as Indian River County Prosecuting Attorney and attorney <br />to the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, for twelve years; and <br />WHEREAS, Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Esquire <br />served as City Attorney for Vero Beach, Sebastian and Fellsmere <br />for several years; and <br />WHEREAS, Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Esquire <br />served the citizens of Indian River County as a member of the <br />Florida House of Representatives from 1952 to 1956; and <br />WHEREAS, Sherman N. Smith, Jr., Esquire <br />served as Associate Judge and Chief Judge of the Second and <br />Fourth District Courts of Appeal of Florida from 1961 to 1966; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on December 13th, 1985, the Indian <br />River County Bar Association will host a testimonial luncheon <br />to honor the countless achievements of Sherman N. Smith, Jr., <br />Esquire; and <br />WHEREAS, Sherman N: Smith, Jr., is well known <br />w <br />to the citizens of Indian River County and the State of Florida' <br />as a gentleman, a statesman and a scholar; and <br />DEC 111985 Boa 62 F -a E 94 <br />
