TO: Michael Wright, DATE: December 4, .1985 ti F� •'`Ej%IED <br />County Administrator �.a�oisoh:ce <br />�..� A <br />dm <br />Through: To y Thomas <br />SUBJECT: Change to Indian River <br />Welfare Department Guidelines <br />FROM: Joyce M Johnston REFERENCES: See Attached <br />IRC Welfare Depar m t <br />Dr. Tucker, Director Indian River County Public Health Unit, <br />has requested that the Indian River County Welfare Departments <br />guidelines of eligibility, for the School Health.Physical <br />Exams, be changed to 150% of the most recently published GSA <br />poverty guidelines. <br />This change will unify all eligibility standards processed by <br />the Welfare Department for the Health Department. By using a <br />standard guideline for screening, the case load will not <br />change for the Welfare Department but could well reduce the <br />processing time. <br />With the present eligibility being 150% for some programs and <br />100% of GSA poverty guidelines in other programs there are <br />families in the county who qualify for some of the services, <br />provided by the Health Department but not others. Dr. Tucker <br />now has an increase in staff which will accomodate the increase <br />in clients that this change will cause his department. <br />I would recommend this change be macre to the Welfare Guidelines. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />approved the change in Welfare guidelines <br />as recommended by Director Johnston. <br />CITRUS LEAGUE RE BRIDGE WEIGHT_ RESTRICTIONS <br />Public Works Director Davis reviewed the following memo: <br />107 <br />DEC 18 j � BOOK 63 PAIGE197 <br />
