Wednesday, January 8, 1986 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />January 8, 1986, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Patrick B. <br />Lyons, Chairman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and William C. Wodtke, Jr. Also <br />present were Michael J. Wright, County Administrator; Charles P. <br />Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; L. S. <br />"Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental Relations Director; and Barbara <br />Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Dr. John Few, Pastor of Christ Methodist by the Sea, gave <br />the invocation, and Chairman Lyons led the Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the Flag. <br />ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN <br />Attorney Vitunac announced that today is the annual <br />organizational meeting of the Board and reviewed the procedures <br />to be followed in electing new Commission officers. He opened <br />the floor to nominations for Chairman. <br />Commissioner Lyons placed the name of Commissioner Scurlock <br />in nomination. <br />There being no further nominations, Attorney Vitunac <br />declared the nominations closed. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously elected <br />Don C.
