LEASE AGREEMENT - DOUGLAS SCHOOL TO ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES <br />COUNCIL <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 12/16/85: <br />TO: DATE: FILE: <br />Board of County Commissioners December 16, 1985 <br />SUBJECT: <br />LEASE OF DOUGLAS SCHOOL <br />TO ECONOMIC OPPOR'PUNITIES <br />OPPORTUNITIES COUNCIL OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />FROM: 1�fr REFERENCES: <br />Bruce Barketwv <br />Assistant County Attorney <br />1. have attached for your approval a draft of a Lease of the <br />Douglas School property to the Economic Opportunities Council of <br />Indian River County for use as offices and a child development <br />center. You approved preparation of this lease at your regular <br />meeting on November 6, 1985. <br />I call your attention to Paragraph 9, in which the Board agrees to <br />have an old wooden structure on the school arounds removed. The <br />Board further agrees to waive the amount of off-street parking <br />renuired by the zoning code. These conditions were not readily <br />discernable in the minutes of the previous meeting, but Mr. <br />i.eonard Edwards believes the Board has aqreed to these items. <br />Attorney Vitunac suggested deleting the last sentence in <br />Paragraph 9 of the proposed lease agreement with the EOC: <br />"Lessor further agrees that it will not require Lessee to provide <br />more off-street parking spaces than previously existing on the <br />property." He explained that Assistant County Attorney Bruce <br />Barkett prepared this agreement and believed this provision was <br />agreed to by the County during the negotiations with EOC. <br />However, after reading over the Minutes there is some doubt about <br />that. <br />Commissioners Bowman and Bird did not remember the Board <br />discussing off-street parking, but had no objection to the <br />deletion. <br />Commissioner Lyons asked if Paragraph 6 makes it clear that <br />this is to be used only for public purposes., because it seemed to <br />41 <br />1986 BOOK 63 17a <br />
