1. Sprigging operation will not be permitted until the soil is moist and in proper condition <br /> to induce growth. No sprigging shall be done When the ground is below 40 degrees <br /> F., unduly Wet, or otherwise not in suitable condition. <br /> 2. Install sprigs at prescribed plant rate. Water immediately after planting and keep soil <br /> moist for 3 to 5weeks. One week after planting apply 250 pounds ammonium nitrate <br /> per acre. Apply when grass blades are dry. Follow up by watering to prevent <br /> burning. <br /> 3. Once the Owner/Golf Course accepts the grassing they will take over the growing in <br /> process of the grass. <br /> a. Watering: <br /> Newly-sprigged areas are to be watered by the Contractor as necessary to <br /> keep sprigs alive. Dead sprigs shall be replaced prior to Owners acceptance. <br /> b. Rolling: <br /> Immediately after completion of sprigging, the entire grassed area shall be <br /> rolled thoroughly with the appropriate equipment. At least two trips over the <br /> entire area will be required. <br /> c. Operations on steep slops.- <br /> Do <br /> lops:Do not place sprigs on steep sloped areas.
