MAR 5 1966 <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, JAMES E. ROBERTS is a native of Vero Beach, born <br />February 26, 1924 when Vero Beach was part of St. Lucie County; <br />and. <br />WHEREAS, JAMES E. ROBERTS' father settled on Johns Island <br />and his family was among the pioneers of Indian River County; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES E. ROBERTS served four years in the UNITED <br />STATES ARMY; and <br />WHEREAS, during his tenure in the service which was spent in <br />France, he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, <br />European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, the Combat <br />Infantry Badge, and in 1947 was granted a total disability <br />discharge; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES E. ROBERTS on April 1, 1958 was appointed as <br />Indian River County Veterans Service Officer and on September 1, <br />1965 resigned to accept a position with the Florida Division of <br />Veterans Affairs; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES E. ROBERTS in 1984 received an incentive <br />award for an outstanding performance evaluation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the Board on <br />behalf of itself expresses gratitude to JAMES E.
