ARCHITECT - COUNTY HEALTH CLINIC BUILDING <br />General Services Director Dean reviewed the following memo, <br />noting that Seminole County in 1983 paid 7.8% for a similar type <br />structure. <br />TO: The Honorable Members DATE: March 5, 1986 FILE: <br />of the Board of County <br />Commissioners <br />THRU: Michael Wright <br />County Administrator <br />FROM. "So <br />Director <br />General S <br />Dean <br />s <br />Architect for County Health <br />SUBJECT: Clinic Building. <br />REFERENCES: <br />On February 11, 1986, Commissioner Lyons, Michael Wright, and this <br />writer met as instructed by the Board, with Lemuel Ramos of Lemuel <br />Ramos and Associates, Inc. to negotiate a contract for the subject <br />project. <br />The Committee discussed, and was able to define, the scope of work <br />that would be required. Mr. Ramos outlined what would be in the <br />basic services which included interior design, graphic design, and <br />special built-in furniture for a price of 9 1/20 of the contract. <br />After discussion and negotiations, we were able to get Mr. Ramos to <br />agree to an 8% fee. <br />Staff recommends the Board authorize Mr. Ramos to perform the work as <br />outlined in the attached contract. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman to execute a contract with <br />Lemuel -Ramos and Associates, Inc., as recommended <br />by staff. <br />Commissioner Wodtke inquired what it means when the contract <br />says it will include some interior design, and Director Dean <br />explained that there is some special furniture that the architect <br />is going to design - built-in type items; this does not include <br />such things as carpet or wallcoverings. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked if there was any discussion of 8% <br />and a not -to -exceed figure, and Commissioner Lyons stated there <br />27 <br />MAS 12 1986 <br />Bou 6 F',�,UE 866 <br />
