IRC Bid #285, Two (2) New 1986 Economy Pickup Trucks <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 3/7/86: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners DATE: March 7, 1986 FILE: <br />THRU: Michael <br />Wright <br />SUBJECT: IRC BID <br />#285-Two(2) New 1986 <br />County <br />Administrator <br />Economy <br />Pickup Trucks <br />FROM:� REFERENCES: <br />Caroly Goodrich, Manager <br />Purchasing Department <br />1. Description and Conditions <br />Bids were received Tuesday, March 4, 1986 at 11:00 A.M. for IRC #285 - <br />Two (2) New 1986 Economy Pickup Trucks, One pickup is for the Utilities <br />Department and one is for the Building Department to replace the vehicle <br />destroyed in an accident. <br />14 Bids were sent out, 2 Bids were received. <br />2. Alternatives and Analysis <br />The low bid was received from Isuzu of Fort Pierce in the amount of $7429.00 <br />each. <br />However, the bid does not meet specifications, Isuzu of Fort Pierce bid a <br />4 cylinder engine, the specifications called for a 6 cylinder engine. <br />The other bid was received from Sunrise Ford, Fort Pierce in the amount of <br />$8347.00 each for a Ford Ranger. <br />The same vehicle can be purchased from the Florida State Contract for $7513.60. <br />3. Recommendation and Funding <br />It is recommended that 2 economy pickup trucks be purchased from the Florida <br />State Contract for $7513.60 each. <br />4. Funding is as follows: <br />Utilities Dept. -_Funds to come from Renewal & Replacement. <br />Building Dept. - See attached budget amendment. <br />Commissioner Wodtke assumed that these trucks were not <br />budgeted for this year, and OMB Director Joe Baird explained that <br />the Building Department had a cash carry over at the beginning of <br />the 85-86 fiscal year due to a vehicle being totalled in an <br />11 <br />
