Description and Conditions <br />Bids were received Tuesday, March 4, 1986 at 11:00 A.M. for IRC BID #286 - <br />One (1) New 1986 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck for the Utilities Department. <br />11 Bids were sent out, 1 Bid was received. <br />2. Alternatives and Analysis <br />The only bid was received from Sunrise Ford, Fort Pierce, F1 in the amount <br />of $8971.00. <br />A 1/2 Ton Pickup Truck with the same specifications can be purchased from <br />the Florida State Contract for $8288.36. <br />3. Recommendation and Funding <br />It is recommended that the 1/2 ton pickup truck be purchased from the <br />Florida State Contract for $8288.36. <br />Funds are budgeted in Account #471-219-536-66.42. <br />Commissioner Wodtke questioned why we received only one bid, <br />and Purchasing Manager Carolyn Goodrich explained that when most <br />of the dealers in -the area analyze the bid proposal and realize <br />the State Contract is less, they don't bother to bid. <br />Director Baird confirmed that this was a budgeted item for <br />the Utilities Department. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the purchase of (1) New 1986 1/2 Ton <br />Pickup Truck from the Florida State Contract for <br />$8288.36. <br />13 <br />
