PINTO <br />DIRECTOR, UTILITY <br />FROM: JEFFREY K. BARTON <br />ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: PROPOSED FRANCHISE HUMANA <br />BACKGROUND <br />Humana Hospital had applied for a water franchise to serve its AMDECO <br />Project at the Sebastian Hospital Site. A copy of the proposed franchise <br />is attached along with a map of the proposed service area. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Utility Staff recommends approval of the requested franchise of Humana <br />Hospital based on the outcome of the public hearing and the outcome of he <br />study of the Roseland Area to be submitted by Masteller and Moler withi�r 90 <br />days. <br />Utilities Director Terry Pinto explained that Humana <br />Hospital already has a water franchise to service the hospital <br />itself and this water franchise would permit the hospital to <br />service some outlying medical offices on the premises. Last week <br />the Board passed Resolution 86-11, giving them a 90 -day delay on <br />the requirements of a utility franchise pending the results of a <br />study being conducted by Masteller & Moler. He recommended that <br />we go through the public hearing process today and get the <br />Board's decision in 90 days pending the outcome of the study. <br />Chairman Scurlock opened the Public Hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (3-0) <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />22 <br />
