PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING JOSEPH EARMAN ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES/FIRE RESCUE <br />WHEREAS, Joseph Earman retired from Indian River County Fire Rescue effective <br />December 3, 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, Joseph Earman began his career on July 26, 1980, as a Firefighter/EMT with <br />the South Indian River County Fire District. Determination and hard work led to his <br />becoming an Engineer in 1982, a licensed Paramedic and a Lieutenant in 1984, reaching <br />the rank of Captain with Indian River County Fire Rescue in 2001 in which capacity he <br />has worked diligently and with great merit until his retirement. Within the department, <br />Captain Earman received multiple commendations, earned dozens of certifications, <br />ranging from Dive Rescue Specialist to Aerial Ops & Maintenance and participated in <br />countless continuing education seminars where he was often the instructor. Within the <br />community, he donated thousands of hours assisting with first responder based seminars <br />and career fairs; managed the Firefighters Fair; founded the Indian River County Fire <br />Rescue Honor Guard; and held past positions of responsibility in the Local 2201. <br />WHEREAS, Joseph Earman has served this County and the Public with distinction and <br />selflessness. During his thirty-five years of service, he was dedicated and his work was <br />greatly appreciated by his employer, citizens and co-workers alike; and <br />NOW,- THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED -BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OFINDL4N RIVER COUNTY;_ FLORIDA, that the Board applauds <br />Joseph Earman's efforts on behalf of the County, and the Board wishes to express their <br />deepest gratitude for the dedicated service he has given to Indian River County for the last <br />thirty-five years; and <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff <br />extend heartfelt wishes for success in his future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 1st day of December 2015. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDL4N RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />Bob Solari, Chairman <br />
