I <br />PROCLAMATION - LAW DAY <br />BOOK 64 pn,14 <br />Chairman Scurlock read the following proclamation aloud and <br />presented it to Attorney William G. Collins, II, who accepted it <br />in behalf of the local Bar Association. <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, MAY IST is LAW DAY U.S.A. in the United <br />States of America; and <br />WHEREAS, the foundation of individual freedom and <br />liberty is the body of the law that governs us; and <br />WHEREAS-, The Constitution of the United States of <br />America, and the Bill of Rights are the heart of that body of law <br />which guarantees us many freedoms - including, among others, <br />freedom of religious belief, freedom to hold property, freedom of <br />assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of <br />petition, and due process of law; and <br />WHEREAS, this year marks the 29th annual nationwide <br />observance of LAW DAY, and the Congress of the United States <br />and the President by official proclamation have set aside May 1st <br />as a special day for recognition of the place of law in American <br />life; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that MAY 1, 1986 <br />be designated as <br />"LAW DAY U.S.A." <br />and call upon all citizens,. schools, businesses, clubs and the <br />news media to commemorate the role of law in our lives. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />• gy �.R. � r�G^c�i J <br />DON C.
