Under discussion, Attorney Vitunac advised that this fee <br />would go into effect whenever it is convenient for the billing <br />cycle, and Director Wright explained that the telephone company <br />has indicated that they would prefer to notify people in their <br />next billing that the fee will appear in the following month's <br />billing and will continue for an 18 -month period. <br />Commissioner Bowman noted that no enforcement is provided in <br />the proposed resolution and asked if non -payments would go to the <br />Code Enforcement Board. <br />Attorney Vitunac explained that non-payment of this fee <br />would be considered an unpaid phone bill and the phone company <br />would just cut off their phone service. if the phone company is <br />sued, the County would hold the phone company harmless and the <br />County would step in and defend this. <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that the telephone company will <br />receive 1 cent for every dollar collected for this purpose. <br />Commissioner Wodtke suggested that the proposed resolution <br />state that the charge will begin in the June billing cycle. <br />COMMISSIONERS LYONS AND BOWMAN AGREED to have the Motion <br />read that the charge would begin in the phone company's June <br />billing cycle. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION.
