ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES/FIRE RESCUE <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Matheny Jr. retired from Indian River County Fire Rescue <br />effective December 17, 2015; and <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Matheny Jr. began his career on December 14, 1983, as a <br />Firefighter with the South Indian River County Fire District. Within the year, he <br />obtainedhis EMT certification. By 1989, he was promoted to Driver/Engineer and in <br />2011, attained the rank of Lieutenant in which capacity he served until his retirement <br />Within the department, he earned many professional certifications for Open Water <br />Diver, Smoke Diver, and Hazardous Materials Rescue in Confined Spaces. Within the <br />community, he assisted with MDA functions, Christmas Toy Drives, Firefighter <br />Olympics, and participated in Florida's Inaugural Firefighter Combat Challenge. <br />WHEREAS, Ronald Matheny Jr. has served this County and the Public with <br />distinction and selflessness. Throughout his thirty-two years of service, he was <br />dedicated and his work was greatly appreciated by the employer, citizens and co- <br />workers alike; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />- COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board <br />applauds Ronald Matheny Jr.'s efforts on--behalf of the County, and the Board wishes <br />to express their appreciation for the dedicated service he has given to Indian River <br />for the last thirty-two years; and _ <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Board of County Commissioners and staff <br />extend heartfelt wishes for success in his future endeavors. <br />Adopted this 15th day of December 2015. <br />4.; <br />;, <br />c, <br />1 <br />9, <br />A'-. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />:,R.t14► Bob Solari, Chairman <br />,t <br />_ <br />, <br />
