Since that time, staff has interacted
with consultant regarding the viability of implementing an AMI system for the entire Indian River County
Department of Utility Services (IRCDUS) service area. Staff will be bringing a final report from the consultant at a
later date.
ANALYSIS:
Presently, the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is accepting applications until December 17,
2015, for Cost -Share Funding for Innovative Projects. Staff has prepared an application to solicit matching funds
for the implementation and installation of one thousand (1,000) residential AMI ready meters and the affiliated
software and hardware components. This implementation would serve as a pilot study for the potential
implementation of such a system countywide.
FUNDING:
Funding for IRCDUS fifty -percent (50%) cost share of the project is available in the Advanced Metering
Infrastructure Account in the Operating Fund. Operating funds are derived from water and sewer sales. However,
no funding is needed at this time. If cost -share funding is awarded, staff will come back to the Board to execute a
cost -share agreement. At any rate, funds would not be expended until FY 2016-17.
ACCOUNT NO.:
Description
Account Number
Amount
Advanced Metering Infrastructure
471-169000-16504
$216,250
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends authorizing the Board Chairman to execute the SJRWMD's REDI Community and Innovative
Project Cost Share Application for Advanced Metering Infrastructure.
ATTACHMENT(s):
Application Package for the SJRWMD's REDI Community and Innovative Cost -Share Program
APPROVED FOR AGENDA:
By:
Josep f A.
