i <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, the door is opening for 30 million Americans who <br />suffer from mental illnesses because of improved insurance <br />benefits and living arrangements within the community; and <br />WHEREAS, now there is treatment for people who suffer from <br />anxiety disorders, depression and other mental illnesses, thanks <br />to biomedical research; and <br />WHEREAS, now there is hope for people who suffer from severe <br />mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and depression; and <br />WHEREAS, being mentally healthy is as important as being <br />physically fit; <br />WHEREAS, '-the MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION in Indian River <br />County,. Florida is helping patients, their families and the <br />public learn the facts about mental health and mental illness; - <br />and <br />WHEREAS, every year since 1953, May has been designated as <br />MENTAL HEALTH MONTH in America; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, Indian River County, Florida that the month of <br />May, 1986 be recognized as _ <br />MENTAL HEALTH MONTH <br />in Indian River County, Florida; and the Board urges all citizens <br />of Indian River County, Florida to hear this call for action to <br />join the volunteers, staff and supporters of the MENTAL HEALTH <br />ASSOCIATION in "working for America's Mental Health" during May <br />and throughout the year. <br />ATTEST: <br />^ w <br />��',..-� <br />Freda Wright, C.Yerk <br />25 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,.
