fees are being imposed on houses for their effect on the road <br />system, and he would question if that is legitimate if the person <br />driving on those roads isn't paying his share. <br />Tom Nason, Finance Director of the City of Vero Beach, felt <br />one of the key things Director Davis brought up is the shortfall. <br />He noted that over 750 of the last two bond issues of the City <br />have been for road and drainage improvements; they have spent <br />every dollar in their five year plan; and it was predicated on <br />the assumption the 64 gas tax would pass. It seems the majority <br />of the municipal population agrees to such a condition and the <br />City of Vero Beach urges the Commission to pass the 64 local <br />option tax. <br />Eric Pollard, 6153 98th Place, believed the fact that none <br />of the county citizens are here today to oppose this tax speaks <br />for itself. <br />Jim Reed spoke for the Associated General Contractors <br />Association.
