ABERNETHY, FRANCHISENISTRATOR <br />DIVISION OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: HUMANA HOSPITAL WATER FRANCHISE <br />BACKGROUND <br />On March 26, 1986, the Utility staff asked the Board of County Commis- <br />sioners to consider granting a water franchise to Humana Hospital which <br />will provide service to the AMDECO project. At that time, the Board of <br />County Commissioners delayed granting the water franchise for 90 days or <br />until the Roseland/Sebastian study by Masteller and Moler, Inc., was <br />completed. Utility staff has contacted Masteller and Moler and they <br />have advised that water service will not be available in that area for a <br />period of time. <br />Humana Hospital administrator has contacted the Utility Department and <br />advised that construction is nearing completion- and they would be <br />applying for Certificate of Occupancy on or before June 1, 1986. <br />However, before a Certificate of Occupancy can be issued a franchise <br />must be established and all required fees paid. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Utility staff 'recommends that the Board of County Commissioners grant <br />the water franchise to Humana Hospital on the condition that all fees <br />and required documents be submitted and paid to the Utility Department <br />within two (2) weeks of this -date. If all requirements are not met <br />within that time frame the franchise will be declared null and void by <br />the Utility Department. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, Chairman Scurlock being <br />out of state and Commissioner Bird being tempo - <br />rarity out of the room, the Board by a 3 to 0 vote <br />adopted Resolution 86-32, Humana, Inc., dba Humana <br />Hospital Sebastian Water System Franchise. <br />79 <br />MAY 2 11986 BOOK FF+,r 5P 6 <br />
