REFERENCES: <br />County Engineer <br />BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br />As a result of an intersection study of Old Dixie Highway and 8th <br />Street approved by the Transportation Committee in March of 1983, the <br />following recommendations were made: <br />1. The installation of a traffic signal. <br />2. Provision of left turns for all approaches. <br />It is noted that the traffic signal was installed in August of 1984. <br />In order to properly implement Left turns at all approaches, an Engineering <br />Design and appropriate plans and specifications for roadway widening were <br />prepared by the Public Works Engineering Department. These plans were made <br />available to all interested contractors in response to our advertisement <br />for bids placed in the Press Journal during the week of April 28th. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />A prebid meeting was held with all interested contractors and the <br />Engineering Staff on May 7, 1986, to answer any specific questions on the <br />plans and specifications. <br />L <br />
