While the contractor was preparing to start the <br /> project,they noticed that some of the pipe connections and steel supports are in need of more extensive <br /> preparation before painting. This preparation work is outside of the specification within the bid. <br /> At this time, staff is requesting Change Order No. 1 in the amount of$9,750.00 for sandblasting and <br /> additional primer to ensure proper adhesion of exterior paint on the properly prepared surface. Such <br /> preparation is needed to achieve a 5 year warranty for both labor (painting contractor) and materials <br /> (paint manufacturer). <br /> The Facility renovations provided through Change Order No. l will increase the contract total to <br /> S41,750.00 which is still under the second lowest bidder of$54,354.00. <br /> FUNDING: <br /> Funding for the South Regional Wastewater Facility Painting Project account is available from the <br /> Utilities Renewal and Replacement budget within the Operating Fund.
