west j<1or;da•M Ina
253 Aioh4w Drwe.
Pat"wtW; FL 34221
W es#tarida l @O*UL&C'MM
813-843-0041
South County WWTF Paintina Proposal
During extensive walk through and site inspection, prior to start date, with Jim Degraffenreid and Richard
Meckes, the following was observed throughout many areas of the WWTF and discussed.
With regard to the following structures.
- Exterior Tank Pipes
- Steel Support brackets, holding tank pipes, and motors
- Numerous connections around pipes and supports
- Walkways
Extensive rust and pitted areas These areas will not satisfactorily respond to wire brush and/or
pressure washing. Rust will seep through connections and into the pipes and supports within weeks.
Heavy mil scale is also apparent on all exterior tank pipes, steel supports around connections and
walkways.
Proposal
In order to achieve the purpose of this project and secure a 5 year warranty by the paint manufacture, the
following is proposed.
Commercial Blast—SSP10 Near White (Commercial Blast areas will be tented and tarped as necessary
to capture the blast media and reduce dust)
First Application-Sherwin-Williams MacroPoxy 920—Pre Prime. 1.5-2.0 dry mills VOC compliant,
penetrating epoxy primer designed for the use over properly prepared steel or concrete services.
Second Application-Sherwin-Williams MacroPoxy 646—Fast Cure Epoxy 5.0-10.0 dry mills High
solids, high build, fast drying, polyamide epoxy designed to protect steel and concrete in industrial
exposures. The high solids content ensures adequate protection of sharp edges, comers, and welds.
Third Application -Acrolon 218 HS 3.0-6.0 dry mills Polyester modified, aliphatic, acrylic
polyurethane suitable for industrial applications. A fast drying, urethane that provides color and gloss
retention for exterior exposure. Specifically formulated for use over prepared metal in industrial
environments, such as structural steel and pipelines.
Given my 41+years of experience as an industrial coatings engineer, it is my professional
recommendation that in order to complete this project up to the highest standards and workmanship, as
well as customer satisfaction and warranty, this method is in the best interest or Indian River.
Total cost-$9,750.00
Prepared by: '' "_
Fra+Ak Sa*xtok, Prep4e4 w
37
