PROCLAMATION <br />HONORING WESLEY MONNIN ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES/FIRE RESCUE <br />WHEREAS, Wesley Monnin retired from Indian River County Fire. Rescue effective <br />February 28,2016; and v <br />WHEREAS, Wesley Monnin began his career on July 7, 1984, as a Fireman, added <br />Emergency Medical Technician certification in 1985, and became a Driver Engineer in <br />1989. Wesley Monnin distinguished himself early in his career as a lifetime learner, <br />achieving certifications in a multitude of first responder areas including emergency <br />medical services, hazardous materials and highly specialized rescue techniques. He <br />earned the designation of Fireman of the Year for his role in rescuing other members <br />of his team who had become trapped during a structure fire.in 1993. By 1998, he was <br />promoted to Lieutenant in which capacity he served until his retirement; and <br />WHEREAS, Wesley Monnin has served this County and the Public with distinction <br />and se flessness. During his thirty-one years of service, he was dedicated and his work <br />was greatly appreciated by his employer, citizens and co-workers alike; and, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE' IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDL9N RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, ' that the Board <br />applauds Wesley.
