BOONE �9 3/_& e_ <br />ENGINEERING OPERATIONS MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: HERON CAY PUMP STATION IMPROVEMENTS/ <br />AWARD OF B I D <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On March 3,- 1986, the Board of County Commissioners authorized <br />Masteller 8 Moler Associates, Inc., for engineering services for the <br />subject project. The cost of improvements to the pump station were <br />estimated to $30,000.00. Plans, specifications and bid packages <br />were prepared, and bids were opened'..'une 9, 1986. <br />ANALYSIS - <br />Two bids were received: one from A.O.B. Underground, Inc., of West <br />Palm Beach, FL in the amount of $29,979.00 and the other from Ted <br />Myers Contracting Company, Inc., Winter Beach, FL in the amount of <br />$29,213.00. <br />Funding of the improvements to the Heron Cay Pump Station will be <br />included in the State Route 60 Wastewater improvements project. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />The Utilities Division recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners authorize awarding of the subject bid to Ted Myers <br />Contracting Company, Inc., of Winter Beach, FL. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Bird, the Board unanimously awarded Bid for <br />the Heron Cay Pump Station Improvements to the low <br />bidder, Ted Myers Contracting Company, Inc., in the <br />amount of $29,213.00, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />FINANCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE - REPORT ON APPLICATION FOR INDUSTRIAL <br />REVENUE BONDS (Fla. Convalescent Center) <br />Chairman Scurlock informed the Board that he has a recommen- <br />dation from the Finance Advisory Committee in regard to a health <br />care facility, Florida Convalescent Centers, which has applied <br />for industrial revenue bonds.
