DeBlois REFERENCES: Figgie Prop. <br />Staff Planner *1> DIS:ROLAND/TM-86-526 <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their <br />regular meeting of July 2, 1986. <br />DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATION <br />APPLICATION NO. 31-121495-4 <br />APPLICANTS: <br />Figgie Properties <br />1835 20th Street <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32960 <br />WATERWAY & LOCATION: The project is located in the Indian River <br />adjacent to River Way Drive in Section 16, Township 33 South, <br />Range 40 East, Indian River County, Florida. <br />The upland property associated with the project is Lot 13 of <br />Seagrove West Subdivision in Vero Beach, Florida. <br />WORK & PURPOSE: The applicant proposes to construct a private <br />single L-shaped dock extending 55 feet waterward, having a width <br />of 4 feet. The terminal platform of the proposed dock is 5 feet <br />in width and 30 feet in length; total square footage of the dock <br />is 350 feet. No sewage pump -out or fueling facilities are <br />proposed; no dredging or filling is to occur. <br />ALTERNATIVES & ANALYSIS: <br />The Planning and Development Division reviews and submits <br />comments on dredge and fill applications to the permitting <br />agencies based upon the following: <br />- The Conservation & Coastal Zoning Management Element of the <br />Indian River Comprehensive Plan <br />- Coastal Zone Management, Interim Goals, Objectives & <br />Policies for the Treasure Coast Region <br />- The Hutchinson Island Planning & Management Plan <br />- The Indian River County Code of Laws and Ordinances <br />The Indian River County Code of Laws and Ordinances specifies <br />that residential dock structures are accessory- uses to the <br />principal residential use. In order to construct the proposed <br />dock facility, the applicant must have a principal structure on <br />Lot #13. <br />The proposed dock facility will be located within the Malabar - <br />Vero Beach State Aquatic Preserve and, as such, is subject to <br />8 <br />
