FrJUL 16 1986 <br />BOOK 65 u -UE T9 <br />The Board continued to emphasize that we have additional <br />requirements as to how these funds are reported, i.e., when the <br />confiscated items are sold, to whom they are sold, etc. <br />Attorney Vitunac advised that the Florida Contraband <br />Forfeiture Acts states that these funds may be used only to <br />defray the costs of protracted or complex investigations by the <br />Sheriff's Dept., to provide additional technical equipment or <br />expertise, to provide matching funds for federal grants, and for <br />such other purposes as the Board of County Commissioners deem <br />appropriate; they shall not be a source of revenue to meet the <br />normal operating needs of the agency.
