JUL 2 3 1986 BOOK 5 Fni 150 <br />3) Boyle Engineering Corporation can prepare various base map <br />document sizes through the use of its Intergraph Computer <br />Aided Design/Drafting (CADD) equipment. <br />The-CADD system is particularly beneficial when updating and <br />adding graphic features. Through this system individual - <br />features can be added or deleted without completely creating a <br />new base map document. <br />Payment for the work performed by Boyle Engineering will be -at. <br />standard rates for computer services not to exceed $10,000 <br />without prior approval by the County. All funding for the <br />mapping services will be provided through the Local Government <br />Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program without the need for <br />additional local funds. Boyle Engineering will provide the <br />County with the final base map products within five weeks of a <br />completed contract.' <br />County staff and Boyle Engineering have agreed upon all of the <br />technical aspects of the addendum to the utilities contract for <br />the mapping work. The County planning and legal staff must <br />include one minor legal technicality required by the DCA in <br />order to finalize the contract for signing by the Board <br />Chairman. <br />RECOMMENDATION• <br />The staff recommends that the Board authorize the Chairman to <br />execute the amended contract with Boyle Engineering to include <br />the mapping work under the County contract with the Florida <br />Department of Community Affairs upon staff completion of the <br />aforementioned legal revision. <br />Robert Keating, Director of Planning & Development, <br />explained that Boyle Engineering was chosen because they are <br />already under contract with the Utilities Dept. and have a <br />intergraph system that facilitates the development of this kind <br />of base mapping. <br />Art Challacombe, Chief of Environmental Planning, explained <br />that he prepared the contract and would go back and specifically <br />call out the name of each city and town in the county. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously approved <br />staff's recommendation for expanding the contract with <br />Boyle Engineering to include the mapping work <br />and authorized the Chairman's signature with the <br />understanding that the contract will be revised to <br />include all municipalities in the county.- <br />ADDENDUM <br />ounty: <br />ADDENDUM TO AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br />19 <br />
