AUG 13 1986 <br />BOOK rn 372 <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />This is the second year Indian River County has been placed on the eligibility list <br />to enter the competition for funding, and this type of program parallels our existing, <br />rehabilitation housing efforts. <br />RECONA ENDATIONS : <br />We respectfully request the County Camnission to authorize its Chairman to execute <br />the application for submission to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for <br />this grant. <br />This program will rehabilitate twenty (20) substandard rental units in the neigh- <br />borhoods of Wabasso, Gifford and Old Oslo Park and will provide twenty (20) Vouchers to <br />lower-income families from the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program. Our total request <br />for Federal Assistance is One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000). <br />This program requires no additional County funds. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously authorized <br />the Chairman to execute the grant application for <br />tMe HUD -Administered Rental Rehabilitation Program <br />for Small Cities. <br />APPLICATION IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />I. Approval of Out -of -State Travel <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />out-of-state travel for Commissioners -and appropriate <br />Staff to attend the Water Pollution Control Federation <br />Seminar and Exposition in Los Angeles, CA, October <br />5-9, 1986. <br />J.
