AUG 2 0 1986 <br />REQUEST FOR BACK-UP POWER SOURCE <br />BOOT( 6 5 PAGE 449 <br />The Board reviewed memo from Freda Wright, Clerk, as <br />follows: <br />August 13, 1986 <br />TO: The Honorable Board of.County Commissioners <br />FROM: Freda Wright, Clerk -- <br />SUBJECT: Back Up Power Source for System 38 <br />Dear Commissioners: <br />We have preliminary Commission approval to <br />spend $30,000 to secure a back up power source in <br />Fiscal Year 86/87. <br />It is our request that we be allowed to <br />purchase this item in Fiscal Year 85/86. This will <br />save the county substantial money in lost production. <br />N <br />During the past 90 days we have lost the use <br />of the system for over 50 hours. This multiplied by <br />90 users multiplied by an average hourly wage of <br />$8.00 equals in"excess of the total cost of the system. <br />Sincerely, <br />FREDA WRIGHT, CLERK <br />by <br />Depuf4 Clerk <br />Commissioner Lyons asked that this item be removed from the <br />agenda because it has been taken care of. He clarified that the <br />order could not be filled before October 1st in any event. <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING REVISIONS TO DISASTER RELIEF ACT OF 1974 <br />County Attorney Vitunac explained that these revisions <br />include the amendment discussed previously which would require <br />local governments to build a system of shelters to protect state <br />and local government officials in the event of nuclear war. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 86-52 opposing the proposed revisions <br />to the Disaster Relief Act of 1974. <br />22 <br />
