AUG, 2 0 1986 BOOK 65 Ft,E S9 <br />Commissioner Lyons brought up the question of whether the <br />School Board might put a library up there and did not feel they <br />should design the building until we understand what our rights <br />are and what we should get involved in. <br />Mr. Lundy believed the School Board is responsible for <br />building the center and the plans are already designed. <br />Commissioner Bird clarified that the grant money is set <br />aside, but all this must be submitted before they actually get <br />the money. <br />Discussion continued at length about what actually is <br />involved re deeding the land, the design of the building, etc. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously directed <br />the County Attorney to research the questions that <br />have been raised today and come back to the Board <br />with a recommendation as to what our role could be <br />at the next meeting; appointed Commissioner Bird <br />to act as liaison with the School Board on this <br />matter; and indicated that we are supportive of the <br />project. <br />Mr. Lundy informed the Board that the Civic League has set <br />the date of Saturday, October 25th, aside for ground breaking <br />ceremonies; they want to keep the community enthusiasm going, and <br />would like to know if they can use County equipment to clear the <br />property. <br />Commissioner Bird agreed with having the ground breaking <br />ceremony, but pointed out that until we get the actual plans, we <br />will not know how the building will set on the site; we will need <br />a site plan before we put equipment in there and start to uproot <br />things. <br />Discussion continued, and Mr. Lundy hoped they could clear <br />62 <br />
