r � <br />Bids were received on Friday, August 22, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. <br />in the County Administrators Conference Room. present at the bid <br />opening were the following staff menbers: <br />Mrs. Carolyn Goodrich, Manager Purchasing <br />Ms. Michelle Terry, Civil Engineer <br />No contractors were in attendance. <br />The bids were received as follows: <br />Canpany Bid <br />All South Utlity Const. Co. $51,395.00 <br />C. R. Dunn, Inc. $48,914.88 <br />The Engineering estimate prepared by the Engineering <br />Department was approximately $40,000.00. <br />RE)OCMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff reccamends that negoiations with the lowest - - <br />responsible Bidder, C.R. Dunn, Inc. to obtain a favorable cost to <br />the County. This Bid is based on the local power .Canpany <br />providing service to a location approximately 30' behind and to <br />the South of Pole B-2. <br />Funding is to be from Fund #102-210-572-66.39 Parks and. <br />Recreation Capital Outlay. _ <br />Commissioner Bowman wished to see this item rebid because <br />only two bids were received and the low bid exceeds the estimated <br />cost by $9,000. <br />Administrator Thomas explained that if the Board wishes to <br />rebid, it will be necessary for the Budget Department to make <br />some arrangements to carry these funds forward into next year, <br />because we won't be able to get the bid in before the beginning <br />of the next fiscal year. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Lyons, that the Board authorize staff <br />to rebid this item. <br />Under discussion, Administrator Thomas noted that we were <br />not able to complete 2 or 3 of the budgeted projects for this <br />fiscal year and that several others were done for less than what <br />was anticipated; therefore, there are sufficient funds even for <br />the $49,000 figure.
