September 2015 3-9 14-14979 <br /> According to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Okeechobee County had an <br /> unemployment rate of 6.3 percent,with Indian River County at 6.0 percent, and Florida at 5.4 percent <br /> in December 2014. <br /> The 2014 average private-sector employment, by major industry groups, for Indian River, Martin, <br /> Okeechobee, and Saint Lucie Counties (Workforce Region 20) is presented in the following table. <br /> The employment projections are also presented.
