Within 5 miles of the Site, <br /> there are no Okeechobee County parks or recreational facilities. <br /> Within Indian River County, the Recreation Department includes the Parks Division that oversees <br /> grounds, buildings, and equipment as well as the recreational facilities and programs offered to <br /> County citizens and visitors. There are a total 40 various park and recreational facilities throughout <br /> the County. There are no Indian River County parks or recreational facilities within five miles of the <br /> Site. <br /> The closest County recreational facility, Blue Cypress Park, is located within Indian River County <br /> approximately seven miles to the northeast of the Site. SJRWMD's Ft. Drum Marsh Conservation <br /> Area is directly east and adjacent to the site. The SJRWMD's Blue Cypress Conservation Area is <br /> located within a mile to the northeast of the site. <br /> 3.2.8.7 Electricity and Gas <br /> Electricity in unincorporated Okeechobee County is provided by FPL and Glades Electric <br /> Cooperative, Inc. Several suppliers provide propane in Okeechobee County. <br /> 3.2.8.8 Water Supply and Domestic Wastewater Treatment Fadilities <br /> The Okeechobee Utility Authority (OUA) operates and maintains a regional water and wastewater <br /> system to provide services for residential, commercial, and other utility customers located within <br /> Okeechobee County and a portion of Glades County(OUA,2015). <br /> Okeechobee County does not provide potable water for residents in unincorporated areas of the <br /> County. There are approximately 74 water treatment facilities in the County; most of these are small <br /> and serve a single commercial business or residential community(OKC CP,2015). <br /> Eighty percent of unincorporated Okeechobee County is served by septic systems as presently no <br /> sewer system is available in those areas. There are approximately 27 private treatment plants, which <br /> are small and generally treat residential-type wastes. The City of Okeechobee owns and operates a <br /> sewage treatment plant that serves the City as well as portions of the unincorporated County, which <br /> surrounds the City(OKC CP, 2015). <br /> 3.2.8.9 Solid Waste Disposal <br /> Solid waste generated within unincorporated Okeechobee County is transported to the Berman Road <br /> Landfill owned and operated by Chambers Waste System of Florida, Inc. (approximately 13 miles <br /> northeast of the City of Okeechobee; north of SR 70). The unincorporated County does not have a <br /> mandatory collection service; however, solid waste is collected through voluntary subscription by <br /> Attachment 1 b <br /> PPL 196 <br />
