Board of County Commissioners <br />January 14, 2015 <br />Page 2of3 <br />9. On October 21, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved the Senior Resource <br />Association's Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) for Formula Grants for Rural Areas funds <br />and receive Section 5311 funds in the amount of $ 71,943. Additionally, the Board approved <br />a JPA with the Florida Department of Transportation for a Public Transportation Block Grant <br />in the amount of $457,662. The attached entry appropriates these grants to the Community <br />Transportation Coordinator, the Senior Resource Association. <br />10. On November 18, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved the contract <br />agreement with Summerlin Marine Construction to repair docks at the Jones's Pier <br />Conservation Area. The attached entry appropriates funding in the amount of $62,000 from <br />Series 2006/Land Acquisition/Cash Forward -Oct 1St <br />11. On August 19, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved a FDOT Local Agency <br />Program Grant for construction of a sidewalk along the east side of Old Dixie Highway <br />between 38th lane and 45th street. The attached entry appropriates the grant funding in the <br />amount of $171,517. <br />12. Public Building Impact Fees are being refunded from Fund 103 for non -expenditure during the <br />six year period of July -December 2008. The attached entry appropriates funding in the <br />amount of $152,068. <br />13. On August 19, 2014 the Board of County Commissioners approved $24,986 in additional <br />Emergency Management Preparedness Assistance Grant (EMPA) funding. Due to employee <br />turnover, an additional $13,759 needs to be allocated to reach the agreed upon grant amount <br />of $105,806. The attached entry appropriates funding in the amount of $38,745. <br />14. Staff proposes funding road resurfacing (totaling $450,000) in Phase I of the 45th Street <br />Beautification. This was initially proposed for FY 2019/19 with State grant funds; however, <br />staff recommends completing this concurrent with the Phase I improvements. The attached <br />entry appropriates funding for this expenditure from Gas Tax Reserves. <br />15. On January 13, 2015 the Board of County Commissioners approved the Community <br />Emergency Response Team (CERT) grant in the amount of $5,461. The attached entry <br />appropriates these grant funds. <br />16. On January 13, 2015 the Board of County Commissioners approved the 2015 State <br />Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) in the amount of $17,777. The attached entry <br />appropriates these grant funds. <br />17. On December 9, 2014 the Board of County Commissioners approved Certificates of <br />Acceptance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for grant awards for the Multi - <br />Agency Criminal Enforcement Unit (MACE) in the amount of $57,250 and the Substance <br />Awareness Drug Testing Program in the amount of $5,366 for fiscal year 2014/2015. The <br />attached entry appropriates these grant. <br />44 <br />
