SEP 3 0 1986 BooK 65 rnjF 945 <br />Commissioner Lyons wondered, in this hot climate, if the <br />A officers will wear the vests, and the Sheriff stated that it will <br />be made mandatory. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously approved <br />the following budget amendment as requested by <br />the Sheriff to transfer funds for the purchase of <br />bulletproof vests. <br />Commissioner Bird felt The Hundred Club had bought some <br />bulletproof vests at one time, and Sheriff Dobeck believed they <br />did buy about 20 in 1977, but the material in these vests breaks <br />down after five years and they need to be replaced. <br />Commissioner Lyons informed the Sheriff that he has received <br />a tremendous number of complaints about the accident frequency on <br />43rd Avenue, and he asked if the Sheriff could increase his <br />patrol there to get people slowed down. <br />Sheriff Dobeck confirmed that would be done. <br />110 <br />
