The goals and objectives are accompanied by an <br />implementation matrix which outlines these statements and their <br />priority, besides identifying the agency which is responsible for <br />implementation of each of the strategies. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Based on the above analysis, including the Planning and Zoning <br />tion, stff nds that the <br />Commission's re mmenda presented, be establishedposed asppart <br />- Economic Development Element, as <br />of Indian River County's Comprehensive Plan. <br />Commissioner Bird asked how this ties in with the committee <br />that Commissioner Wodtke is chairing, and Mr. Goulet explained <br />that this came out of the Overall Economic Development Plan <br />Committee which developed the strategies and objectives of the <br />Overall Economic Development Plan. <br />Commissioner Bird asked if it would be proper for <br />Commissioner Wodtke's committee to gi.ve any input on this matter, <br />and Mr. Shearer advised that staff had hoped to get this before <br />them so that they could make a recommendation, but that committee <br />has not held a meeting since July when this amendment request was <br />originated. <br />Chairman Scurlock opened the Public Hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner. Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Wodtke having left the meeting earlier) <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, that the Board authorize staff to <br />transmit the proposed amendment to the Comprehensive <br />Plan to the State for review. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he seconded the Motion with <br />the understanding that the plan will be sent to Commissioner <br />Wodtke's committee for comment. <br />58 <br />
