x <br />BOOK 6 o 1, 418 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously closed the <br />public hearing. <br />Commissioner Wheeler stated that as he understood it, the <br />ordinance is to be countywide and would apply to the cities until <br />they adopt their own ordinances. <br />Attorney Wilson advised that City Councilman Mike Wodtke has <br />indicated that the City at tonight's meeting will consider an <br />ordinance to allow the horns to be blown, and he believed <br />Sebastian is taking the same position. <br />Commissioner Wheeler asked if Attorney Wilson felt <br />completely comfortable with no liability for the county as long <br />as there is posting, and Attorney Wilson stated that based on <br />existing law, he did. Commissioner Wheeler wished to know what <br />counties have adopted an ordinance restricting the sounding of <br />train horns, and Attorney Wilson did not know of any counties, <br />but he did know of quite a few cities that have. <br />Mr. Risner informed the Board that Martin County has such an <br />ordinance as does Broward County, and Palm Beach County is <br />considering one now. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by Com- <br />missioner Bowman, the Board unanimously -adopted <br />Ordinance 86-75 unconditionally prohibiting the <br />sounding of railroad train horns and whistles <br />between 10:00<P.M. and 6:00 A.M. <br />53 <br />� i � <br />
