H. Award of Bids - Intersection Improvements <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 11/17/86: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of the DATE: November 17, 1986 FILE: <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: <br />Charles Balczun, <br />County Administrator SUBJECT: <br />Award of Bids - Intersection <br />Improvements at 4th Street/ <br />27th Avenue and 16th Street/ <br />43rd Avenue <br />FROM: James W. Davis, 'P.E., REFERENCES: <br />Public Works Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Bids were received October 29, 1986 for the signalization of the above <br />subject improvements, including pavement widening, drainage, and pedestrian <br />improvements at 27th Avenue/4th Street. The Board and Transportation <br />Planning Committee have both approved these projects. <br />ALTEMT= AND ANALYSIS <br />The bids received were as follows <br />4th Street/27th Avenue - Road work $83,749.55 Dennis L. Smith, Inc. <br />Signalization $14,695.00 Signal Construction <br />Sub -total $98,444.55 <br />16th Street/43rd Avenue - Striping $ 505.50 Dennis L. Smith, Inc. <br />Signalization $18,401.00 Signal Construction <br />Subtotal $18,906.50 <br />The bids received were competitive and the total cost of the work is <br />$117,351.05. This is very close to the Engineer's Estimate of $116,223.45. <br />RECONMEVDATION AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends the bids be awarded as follows: <br />Part 1, Schedule A and Part 2, Schedule A to Dennis L. Smith, Inc. in the <br />amount of $84,255.05. <br />Part 1, Schedule B and Part 2, Schedule B to Signal Construction in the <br />amount of $33,096. <br />Funding to be as follows: <br />1) Gas Tax Revenue (Fund 109) $92,351.05 - Balance approximately <br />$5,000,000 <br />2) District 6 Road Impact Fee Account (000-349) $25,000 - approximately <br />$83,513.51 has been collected in the District 6 Road Impact Fee <br />account since March 1, 1986. <br />li <br />V 2 5 1986 BOOK U6 FAi 47 <br />
