Tuesday, January 27, 1987 <br />En <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River <br />County, Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, <br />January 27, 1987, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Presentfwere Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; <br />Richard N. Bird; Carolyn K. Eggert; and Gary C. Wheeler. Also <br />present were Charles P. Balczun, County Administrator; Charles <br />P. Vitunac, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; <br />Joseph Baird, OMB Director; and Barbara Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Commissioner <br />Bird led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Scurlock requested the following additions to <br />today's Agenda: <br />1. An emergency item to authorize the Supervisor of <br />Elections to execute certificates for county elections. <br />2. As Item U on the Consent Agenda, authorization for the <br />use of a county vehicle to transport donated citrus <br />fruit to Orlando for distribution at County Engineers <br />Conference. <br />3. A request to initiate legal action against the State <br />Department of General Services for non-payment of <br />traffic impact flees on the Florida Corrections Academy <br />being built next to Mueller Center on Lundberg Road. <br />4. Discussion of an offer by a contractor to resurface a <br />2 -mile stretch of 4th Street using an asphalt recycling <br />process. This is an emergency item because the firm <br />would Like to do it as early as possible because they <br />have their machinery available. <br />5. A resolution authorizing a tax referendum on March 10th <br />on an increase in millage for the North County Fire <br />District, plus a discussion of polling costs. <br />Rz' 6 <br />JAN 21 1987 <br />
